The patterns of cycle lengths here are not played; they are a function of the relationships within the octave itself. E.g. if the sample you hear is repeating eight times per measure, and a lower-pitched sample then repeats six times during the same measure, it's because the VSS-30 changed the speed to match the change in pitch. This is the cool thing about thirds, fifths, octaves, etc.
